A BIT ABOUT STONE PRICE LEVELS
Stone slabs of all varieties from porcelain to granite, marble to quartz and so on, are categorized into tiers or levels typically starting from level one to five or more, which can indicate details such as cost and ease of availability vs rarity. The lower the number the more common and readily available the material can be which typically indicates lower cost. Whereas with higher level stone types, these have a greater cost because they can be more scarce and may be uniquely ornate in detail and/or color (such as "exotics" for example), meaning there is likely a greater cost. Even Fabrication and Installation price will increase when using more exotic natural stones.

This knowledge is key for understanding how the cost for the materials plays a part in the price per square feet for your kitchen countertops, bathroom countertops, and other home or business improvement projects.
